ORI

Kori-Infused Body (+3)

Ori biology is infused with Kori energy. Every full-blooded Ori has the innate ability to tap into this power.

Edge: Arcane Background (Linked) (+2)

Ori start with the Linked Arcane Background, which grants them 15 Power Points and 1 Novice Power of their choice, chosen from the Linked power list. Power descriptions can be found in the SWADE book, starting on pg. 154, while the Linked Power list can be found here (Hyperlink to Linked Arcane Background page). For convenience, Novice Linked Powers are listed below:

Arcane Protection, Beast Friend, Blind, Bolt, Boost/Lower Trait, Burrow, Burst, Confusion, Darksight, Deflection, Detect/Conceal Arcana, Elemental Manipulation, Empathy, Entangle, Environmental Protection, Fear, Havoc, Healing, Light/Darkness, Protection, Relief, Shape Change, Smite, Sound/Silence, Speak Language, Stun, Summon Ally, Wall Walker

Skill (Essence) (+1)

Ori begin with a d4 in the Essence skill, which is the spellcasting skill die for the Linked Arcane Background.

Mental Overload (-1)

The side effects of Ori physiology impact the mind more than the body.

Attribute Penalty (Smarts) (-2)

The Ori’s mental distraction takes the form of a -1 penalty to Smarts attribute rolls, but not linked skills.

Hindrance (Jealous, Minor) (-1)

Each Ori’s hyper-fixation manifests in different ways, depending on the individual, but is always one particular subject. Examples include personal skills or aptitudes, professional standing, and achievements. (SWADE pg. 25)

Edge: Nerves of Steel (+2)

The mental distraction serves a secondary, useful purpose: Ori can avoid the ambient distraction of pain receptors better than other races. They may ignore 1 point of wound penalties. (SWADE pg. 43)
