Kori-Infused Mind (+3)

The Vel’s minds are laced with powerful and unique Kori energies. Every Vel has the ability to access this power, although it manifests differently for each individual.

Edge: Arcane Background (Psionics) (+2)

Vel start with the Psionic Arcane Background, which grants them 10 Power Points and 3 Novice Powers of their choice, chosen from the Psionic Power list. Powers descriptions can be found in the SWADE book, starting on pg. 154, while the Psionic Power list can be found here (Hyperlink to Psionic Arcane Background page). For convenience, Novice Psionic Powers are listed below:

Arcane Protection, Beast Friend, Blind, Confusion, Detect/Conceal Arcana, Empathy, Fear, Illusion, Mind Link, Mind Reading, Relief, Sound/Silence, Speak Language, Stun

Skill (Psionics) (+1)

Vel begin with a d4 in the Psionics skill, which is the spellcasting skill die for the Psionics Arcane Background. 

Psionic Drain (-1):

The side effects of Vel physiology impact the body as well as the mind. 

Edge: Danger Sense (+2)

The incredible power of a Vel’s brain allows them to have a surface-leveling sensory awareness of their immediate surroundings. This awareness only triggers when they subconsciously sense impending danger, and if offers them the opportunity to react. (SWADE pg. 52)

Attribute Penalty (Vigor) (-2)

The energy needed for the Vel to control their Psionic abilities takes the form of a -1 penalty to Vigor attribute rolls.

Hindrance: Phobia (Minor) (-1)

The ambient stress and fear every Vel absorbs from the environment manifests in different ways, depending on the individual, but is always funneled to one subject. When in the presence of this subject, Vel suffer a -1 penalty to all Trait rolls. (SWADE pg. 26)
